Within its scope, the Jev model is reached for in three broad categories. Capacity and sizing questions ask how much resource is needed to handle a demand pattern; the model converts a rough demand estimate plus a variability assumption into a capacity range. Comparison and selection questions ask which of two options behaves better; the model returns a range for each option so they can be read side by side. Variability and risk questions ask how much of the observed spread comes from burstiness rather than from the average level; the model keeps that spread visible instead of collapsing it. All three share the same shape: coarse inputs, a range as output, and a question about behavior rather than a single exact number.
