The Jev model takes in three intuitive things: a description of how demand arrives, a description of how much the system can clear, and a description of how work is shared among the parts doing the clearing. From those it produces a picture of behavior across the whole operating range — short waits when there is slack, sharply rising waits as demand approaches capacity, and unbounded growth beyond it. The output is not a single predicted number but a curve showing how the system responds as load changes.
